AG-501-230-002 - Department of Agriculture Greenhouse - Replacement of Two HVAC Units

Background
The Maryland Department of Agriculture is seeking a contractor for the replacement of two HVAC units at their greenhouse located in Annapolis, Maryland. This project aims to enhance the greenhouse's climate control systems, ensuring optimal conditions for agricultural activities. The contract is classified as a Small Procurement Category III, indicating a project cost under $200,000. Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, machinery, tools, materials, and supplies necessary for the replacement of existing air handlers with new heat pump split systems. The scope includes:

1. Removal of existing equipment and components.

2. Installation of two new 15-ton JCI Split System Heat Pumps (model #s J15PCC00A2GAA5 and J15NLC00E2BAA2 or approved equal), including:
- Air Handlers with 5.0 HP Motor, 208/230-3-60 configuration, Intellispeed VFD without Bypass, Composite Drain Pan, and a 36 KW Electric Heater (model # 2HN04603625).
- Condensing Units with specifications including a 2-Pipe R-410A system and various electrical components such as HACR Circuit Breaker/Disconnect and a programmable thermostat (model # S1-TEC3012-14-000).

3. Installation of heavy-duty anti-vibration pads under each unit.

4. Necessary transitions to the inlet and outlet of each air handler along with adjustments to piping, valves, vents, louvers, wiring, insulation to meet building code requirements.

5. Allowances for additional work including installing new power feeds ($15,000), replacing damaged concrete ($35,000), and repairing existing controls ($7,500).

6. Alternate work includes replacing an existing 1-1/2 Ton Split System with a GREE Split System (model # GMV-24WL/C-T(U) or approved equal). All work must be performed during specified hours requiring coordination with facility operations.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed within 180 calendar days from the start date designated by the notice to proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Maryland Department of Agriculture Greenhouse located at 50 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
