ACM Student Housing Siding & Windows Replacement

Background
Allegany College of Maryland is seeking proposals for the removal and installation of new siding and windows for Building 1 of their student housing complex.
The college aims to enhance the living conditions for students by upgrading the exterior of the building, which is a crucial part of their mission to provide quality education and facilities.

Work Details
The project includes the following tasks:
- Removal of approximately 15,000 square feet of existing vinyl siding down to the OSB (oriented strand board) and disposal in onsite dumpsters.
- Installation of new vinyl siding (Norandex Woodsman Sel D5 Sierra 636608) including all necessary accessories such as corners, j-channels, and starter strips.
- Installation of aluminum drip cap flashing over all windows, ensuring all seams and joints are sealed with flashing tape.
- Replacement of approximately 48 windows with ProVia single hung model 401SH, ensuring proper measurements and ordering from an approved supplier (preferably ABC Supply).
- Full demolition and removal of existing windows down to rough openings, followed by installation of new construction frame single hung windows with necessary flashing and insulation.
- Any repairs needed for wooden frames or sheathing under siding will be conducted on a Time & Material (T&M) basis at $75 per hour, requiring prior approval from ACM personnel.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for construction is May 18th, 2026, with substantial completion expected by August 7th, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Allegany College of Maryland's student housing complex located at 10300 Willow Woods Court, Cumberland, MD 21502.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting on March 11th, 2026.
All contractors submitting bids must adhere to Maryland worker protection laws and are responsible for obtaining all necessary project permits.
