Description

The work Consist of clearing grubbing, tree removal, excavation and restoration ofchannel, stream dragging, excavating stream bank area to increase floodplain storage volumeas shown in contract plans. Project scope includes Erosion and Sediment control, slopestabilization using Riprap and stabilization matting, Salvage and spread topsoil, Riparian areapermanent seeding, Wetland Meadow seeding, Turf grass establishment, and landscaping andother miscellanies items.
Background
The Upper Marlboro Flood Risk Management and Stream Restoration Project is initiated by Prince George's County, Maryland, through the Department of Public Works and Transportation.

The project aims to enhance floodplain storage volume and restore stream channels as part of the county's efforts to manage flood risks effectively.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: clearing and grubbing, tree removal, excavation and restoration of channels, stream dragging, and excavating stream bank areas.

The project scope includes erosion and sediment control, slope stabilization using riprap and stabilization matting, salvage and spread topsoil, riparian area permanent seeding, wetland meadow seeding, turf grass establishment, landscaping, and other miscellaneous items.

Specific items to be provided include:
- Clearing & Grubbing
- Maintenance of Traffic
- Temporary Traffic Signs
- Various types of excavation (Class 1 Excavation, Class 5 Excavation)
- Installation of pipes (36-inch polyethylene pipe)
- Erosion control measures (sandbag dike, filter bags)
- Riparian area seeding (including specific plant species)
- Soil stabilization matting (various types)
- Temporary structures for water diversion.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be completed within Five Hundred Seventy (570) calendar days after the Notice To Proceed.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
