23186 WX0 Back River Neck Road 16 Inch and 24" Water Main Replacement Phase 3

Background
This project is initiated by the Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation, specifically under the Division of Construction Contracts Administration. The goal of this contract is to replace existing water mains along Back River Neck Road from Homberg Avenue to North Hyde Park Road in Essex, Maryland. This work is critical for maintaining and improving the water distribution infrastructure in the area.

Work Details
The contract involves the installation of various diameter ductile iron water mains, including:

- 2,913 linear feet of 24-inch water main
- 2,325 linear feet of 16-inch water main
- 169 linear feet of 12-inch water main
- 533 linear feet of 8-inch water main
- 321 linear feet of 6-inch water main
- 22 linear feet of 4-inch water main.

Additionally, it includes nine (9) fire hydrants, multiple gate valves and vaults ranging from 4 inches to 24 inches in size, as well as service connection renewals. The contractor will also be responsible for pressure testing, disinfection, and connecting to existing water mains. All existing service connections currently served by the old mains will be replaced up to the existing meter boxes. The project requires compliance with specific standards for ductile iron pipe and fittings as per ANSI/AWWA specifications.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be completed within a period of approximately 400 working days.

The work will take place along Back River Neck Road from Homberg Avenue to North Hyde Park Road in Essex, Maryland.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all specified requirements outlined in the addendum and proposal documents. This includes providing certifications for materials such as gate valves and fire hydrants as well as documenting existing pipe materials for all service connections.
