2026 device buyback Buy-Back of Surplus Technology

Background
Talbot County Public Schools (TCPS) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to purchase surplus Apple and Dell technology devices that were previously utilized by students and staff as part of the district's 1:1 initiative. The goal of this RFP is to secure competitive pricing for the complete inventory of devices while ensuring proper data security, asset handling, and removal.

Work Details
The selected vendor will be responsible for purchasing approximately 1,295 used Apple and Dell devices, including:
- MacBooks
- iPads
- Mac Minis
- Micro Dell Desktops

The vendor must submit a guaranteed total purchase price for the entire inventory and complete the required RFP Response Sheet. Responsibilities also include:
- On-site evaluation during the optional inspection period.
- Collecting, packaging, palletizing, and transporting all equipment from TCPS facilities.
- Supplying necessary equipment such as pallet jacks and lift-gate vehicles.
- Removing all asset tags, inventory labels, and user-identifying markings.
- Performing secure data erasure following Apple Erasure Protocols in compliance with NIST and NAID standards.
- Providing TCPS with a Certificate of Data Destruction for all devices.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to conclude within 45 days after the vendor inspects the equipment.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Talbot County Education Center located in Easton, Maryland.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must provide a minimum of two references upon request. There are no specific set-aside certifications mentioned in the solicitation.
