Water main replacement

Background
The Town of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts is seeking bids for a water main replacement project. This initiative aims to enhance the town's water infrastructure by replacing existing water mains in several locations, thereby improving service reliability and quality. The project is estimated to cost $2,325,065.00 and requires contractors to be prequalified by MassDOT for sewer and water work.

Work Details
The contract involves the installation of approximately:
- 4,360 linear feet of 6-inch CLDI class 52 pipe
- 2,550 linear feet of 8-inch CLDI class 52 pipe
- 20 linear feet of 6-inch C909 PVC class 235 pipe
- 1,520 linear feet of 8-inch C909 PVC class 235 pipe
- 460 linear feet of 12-inch CLDI class 52 pipe.

Additionally, the work includes all associated appurtenances such as:
- Approximately (104) 1” PE lateral service reconnections
- (11) main reconnections
- (13) new hydrants.

All work must comply with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Works Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges (2020).

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon award and must be completed within a timeframe specified in the bid documents.

- Oak St. easement
- Oak St. extension
- South St.
