Description

Sealed bids for the filed Sub-Bids designated herein will be received at the Town of Dartmouth DPW, 759 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, MA 02748 until 10:30 A.M., Local Time, July 11, 2025, and at that time and place shall be opened and read aloud publicly. Sub-Bids are required for Electrical.
Background
The Town of Dartmouth, Massachusetts is issuing a contract for upgrades and improvements to the Elswick Street Pump Station and Route 6 Pump Station.

The project aims to enhance the operational efficiency and safety of these critical sewage and water treatment facilities.

Work Details
The scope of work includes extensive removal and disposal of existing equipment and infrastructure at both pump stations, as well as the installation of new systems.

Specific tasks include:

**Elswick Street Pump Station:**
1) Remove and dispose of two suction lift pumps, motors, support base assemblies, and related pump controls.
2) Remove and dispose of back-up LP gas engine, exhaust muffler, and related exhaust vent assembly.
3) Cover and seal-off vent wall penetration with insulated aluminum blank/cover.
4) Remove and dispose of pump suction and discharge pipes, valves, and related supports.
5) Remove wet well vent pipe above grade; cut and cap vent pipe 6-inches below grade.
6) Remove by-pass piping connected to pump discharge piping.
7) Watertight patch/repair floor pipe penetrations through pump station floor slab to wet well.
8) Abandon in place wet well structure.
9) Remove 15-inch buried PVC gravity sewer along pump station driveway; cut and cap gravity sewer at inlet of wet well structure.
10) Remove 10-inch buried PVC force main sewer along pump station driveway; install tapping sleeve on existing force main for temporary by-pass.
11) Remove magnetic flow meter assembly.
12) Remove electrical equipment, related conduit/wiring, and ancillary devices.
13) Remove instrumentation inside FRP building and wet well.
14) Replace entrance fencing; remove existing 500-gallon LP gas aboveground storage tank and related fasteners.
15) Remove existing LP regulators/piping/fittings between LP gas tank and pump engine inside the station.
16) Provide new 6-inch water service line where necessary.
17) Provide reinforced concrete wet well structure with valve vault.
18) Install three sewer submersible pumps with guide rail assembly inside a new wet well.
19) Install new electrical controls inside the existing FRP building.
20) Provide digital flow meter inside valve vault.

**Route 6 Pump Station:**
1) Similar removal tasks as Elswick Street including suction lift pumps, LP gas engine, magnetic flow meter assembly, etc.
2) Install doghouse manhole for temporary sewer by-pass system.
3) Provide reinforced concrete wet well structure with valve vault.
4) Install three sewer submersible pumps with guide rail assembly inside a new wet well.
5) Provide new natural gas-powered generator inside existing FRP building connected to a new 500-gallon LP tank.

Period of Performance
The project completion period is set for 300 days from the start date, with substantial completion expected in 240 days.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Elswick Street Pump Station and Route 6 Pump Station located in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements
General Contractors must be certified by the Division of Capital Planning and Asset Maintenance (DCAMM) in the category of Sewage and Water Treatment Plants. Bidders must submit a Certification of Eligibility from DCAMM with their bid.
