TRD03 Fire Damper Inspection & Operational Test Pocasset MHC

Background
The Department of Mental Health Southeast Area is issuing this contract for the Fire Damper Inspection and Operational Test at the Pocasset Mental Health Center located at 830 County Road, Pocasset, MA 02559. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and maintain operational integrity of fire dampers in accordance with NFPA codes.

Work Details
The contractor will conduct inspections and operational tests on 92 fire dampers, ensuring compliance with NFPA 90A-2012, NFPA 80-2010, NFPA 101-2012, and NFPA 105-2010. The work includes:

1. Conducting inspections and operational tests as per NFPA requirements.
2. Documenting each inspection including location, date, inspector name, deficiencies discovered, and number of passed/failed dampers.
3. Providing a Certificate of Inspection and Certification for Use to the Maintenance Manager or designee.
4. Reporting any malfunction or unsafe conditions immediately to the Maintenance Manager.
5. Obtaining a State Building Permit for inspections or repairs; town permits are not acceptable as this is a state-owned building.
6. Noting any untested dampers as 'untested or unable to test' in reports.
7. Performing preventive maintenance to ensure continued performance and reduce system failure risks.
8. Using original manufacturer components for repairs to preserve UL listings.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from the date of award until December 12, 2025.

Place of Performance
All work will be conducted at the Pocasset Mental Health Center located at 830 County Road, Pocasset, MA 02559.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of required licenses and permits for service personnel. The contractor must adhere to prevailing wage rates as determined by Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H.
