Background
The Town of Braintree is seeking to replace the rooftop HVAC units at the Thayer Public Library. The project aims to enhance the library's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to improve energy efficiency and comfort for patrons and staff.

BLW Engineers, Inc. is the engineering firm overseeing the project.

Work Details
The contract includes the removal of existing rooftop units and associated controls, as well as the installation of new HVAC equipment. Specific tasks include:

1. Removal of existing rooftop units (RTU-1, RTU-2, RTU-3) and associated ductwork.
2. Installation of new Trane rooftop units (RTU-1, RTU-2, RTU-3) with specified capacities and features:
- RTU-1: Model WHJ240A3S0N, 5650 CFM supply air capacity.
- RTU-2: Model WHJ180A3S0P, 4800 CFM supply air capacity.
- RTU-3: Model WHJ150A3S0N, 3000 CFM supply air capacity.
3. Installation of ductwork including insulated and jacketed exterior ductwork.
4. Installation of a new building management system (BMS) connection for monitoring and control.
5. Compliance with all local codes and regulations regarding HVAC installations.

Period of Performance
The work is scheduled to commence upon contract award with an anticipated completion date aligned with library operational needs. The bid set indicates a submission date of August 30, 2024.
