The item for sale is a used 1996 KME Commercial Pumper, Freightliner FL80 fire apparatus with approximately 25,000 miles. Key specifications include:
- Engine: 6 Cylinder 8.3L Cummins C8
- Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR): 35,000 lbs.
- Major Defects/Issues: The vehicle starts, runs, and drives without issues; however, the Hale fire pump is not operational and the utility body shows significant wear and tear with some rust issues.
- Equipment Included: No fire equipment is included with the sale.
- Special Features: The vehicle has a Hale 1,500 gal/min fire pump (which needs work) and a 1,500-gallon water tank. The vehicle is sold as-is with no warranties or guarantees.

Period of Performance
Bids will be accepted until 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Possession of the vehicle must occur within thirty days of the bid award unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Place of Performance
The vehicle can be inspected at the Ashfield Highway Garage located at 896 Cape Street by appointment only. Bids can be submitted in person at Ashfield Town Hall/UPS/FedEx at 412 Main Street or via US mail to Town Administrator, PO Box 560, Ashfield MA 01330.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must sign a non-collusion form available on the town’s website. All bid envelopes should be labeled 'Fire Truck Surplus Bid 2025'. The Town of Ashfield reserves the right to reject any and all bids if deemed in the best interest of the town.
