Background
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Aeronautics Division, is issuing a contract for the Statewide Airport Pavement Maintenance and Pavement Marking Project On-Call.
The project aims to maintain and improve public-use general aviation airports across the Commonwealth, excluding Massport-owned airports such as Hanscom (BED), Worcester (ORH), and Logan International Airport (BOS).
The contract value is estimated at $6,000,000.00.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various pavement maintenance activities including: complete crack sealing, crack repair, pavement repair, pavement surface treatments, cold in-place recycling, full depth reclamation, pavement removal, base material preparations, pavement markings, pavement marking removal, surface preparation, pavement overlay, erosion control, minor turf restoration, and other related maintenance activities.
The work will be performed at public-use airports under the jurisdiction of MassDOT Aeronautics Division over a span of up to five construction seasons defined as follows: SFY2025 (Spring), FY2026 (Summer/Fall), FY2026 (Spring), FY2027 (Summer/Fall), and FY2027 (Spring).
The contractor must have at least three years of previous airfield experience with an exceptional safety record.
Period of Performance
The contract will be executed over five construction seasons starting from Spring 2025 through Spring 2027.
Specific work periods are defined as Spring (March to June) and Summer/Fall (July to November), with the actual start and end dates dependent on weather conditions.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various public-use general aviation airports throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
