Stadium Field Renovations

Background
The project titled 'Stadium Field Renovations for Belchertown High School' is initiated by the Belchertown Public Schools, located at 14 Maple Street, Belchertown, MA. The goal of this contract is to enhance the athletic facilities at Belchertown High School by renovating the stadium field. This includes both the removal of existing site improvements and the construction of new site enhancements as specified in the provided plans and specifications dated December 1, 2025.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Removal of existing sod/thatch layer inside the track while retaining existing topsoil.
- Disposal of removed sod and thatch at the Waste Water Treatment Facility located at 175 George Hannum Street, Belchertown.
- Maintenance and reinstallation of existing irrigation boxes, heads, and rotors for reuse.
- Construction of a new sodded turf field with necessary soil modifications and amendments for the entire playing field surface (football/soccer limits).
- Installation of a new seeded lawn in D-Zone areas.
- Reinstallation of existing irrigation systems to new playing field grades with testing and repairs as required.
- Alternates include providing new sodded turf in D-Zone areas and new offset football goals.
- The contractor must ensure pedestrian barricades, fencing, signage, and temporary egress measures are in place to direct public traffic around the work area without disrupting surrounding athletic facilities.

Period of Performance
The contractor is expected to achieve substantial completion by June 5, 2026, with final completion within six calendar weeks thereafter. Work is to begin immediately after contract execution.

Place of Performance
The renovations will take place at Belchertown High School, located at 142 Springfield Road, Belchertown, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a certified or cashier's check or bid bond amounting to 5% of their bid as security. Successful bidders are required to furnish a performance bond and a labor and materials bond each equal to 100% of their bid amount. Bidders must have been in business under the same name for at least five years and demonstrate experience with five similar projects within that timeframe.
