Silverbrook & Town Hall Paving

Background
The Town of Sandisfield, through its Department of Public Works, is soliciting sealed bids for paving work on Silverbrook Road and the Town Hall parking lot and driveway. The project aims to improve local infrastructure by milling, leveling, and resurfacing roads to enhance safety and accessibility. The work is scheduled to begin after July 1, 2026, and must be completed by October 15, 2026.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. **Silverbrook Road**:
- Milling 1.5 inches of existing blacktop over approximately 2,700 linear feet (18 feet wide).
- Installation of a 1.5-inch bituminous concrete leveling course and a 2-inch top course with tack coat applied at a rate of 0.07 gallons per square yard.
- Fine grading and compacting approximately 900 linear feet (14 feet wide) of unpaved roadway from the end of existing blacktop to the Fox Road/Silverbrook Road intersection with calcium applied at a rate of 1 gallon per square yard.
- All grindings shall be stockpiled on Town property.

2. **Town Hall Parking Lot and Driveway**:
- Full-depth reclamation and resurfacing including widening on the east side, reclaiming, fine grading, and compacting existing surfaces.
- Installation of a 2-inch binder course and a 1.5-inch top course with tack coat applied at a rate of 0.07 gallons per square yard.
- Construction of accessible parking spaces in compliance with ADA requirements.

Period of Performance
Work shall commence after July 1, 2026, and must be completed by October 15, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Sandisfield, Massachusetts, specifically on Silverbrook Road and at the Town Hall parking lot.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be MassDOT Prequalified with PAVEMENT – SURFACING as the class of work. All contractors and subcontractors are required to be OSHA 10 certified. Bids must include proof of liability insurance, a Workers’ Compensation Insurance Affidavit, a Certificate of Non-Collusion, and a Certificate as to Payment of State Taxes. Corporate bidders must submit an executed Certificate of Vote authorizing the signatory to bind the corporation. A bid guaranty equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount is also required.
