Sharon Civil Defense Building - Electrical Infrastructure

Background
The Sharon Civil Defense Building project is being procured under MGL Ch 149, which governs construction projects in Massachusetts. The agency's mission is to enhance local emergency response capabilities through the establishment of a new facility. The goal of this contract is to provide the necessary electrical infrastructure for the newly constructed pre-engineered metal building located at 280 South Main St, Sharon, MA.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the installation of electrical infrastructure within the Sharon Civil Defense Building. Key components include:

- Surface-mounted conduits and boxes.
- Installation of 120V electrical outlets at a height of 48 inches above the floor, specifically 5-20R, 20 ampere units.
- GFI outlets to be box mounted instead of using GFI breakers.
- Installation of Unistrut along both side walls and the back wall at specified intervals for conduit support.
- Main panel: Generac p/n 5449 with protected and unprotected breaker slots.
- Four owner-supplied sub panels (two GETLM812SCUD and two GETLM2412CCU) installed at specified locations.
- Perimeter receptacles mounted at each building corner and every 10 feet along the sides and back wall, with circuits alternating between protected and unprotected panels.
- Specific circuits for various equipment including a furnace, fan, LED security fixtures, and overhead lighting circuits in designated areas (garage bays and workshop).
- Exterior lighting wiring including weather-rated boxes for fixtures and GFI receptacles at strategic locations around the building.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed by November 8, 2024.
