Sealed Bids for the construction of Hopedale Town Park Improvements

Background
The Town of Hopedale, Massachusetts, is seeking sealed bids for the construction of improvements to Hopedale Town Park, which serves as a multi-use recreational space. The park includes facilities such as a baseball field, batting cage, tennis courts, basketball court, bandstand, and playground area. The goal of this contract is to rehabilitate the park to enhance its usability and safety for the community.

Work Details
The work for this project consists of rehabilitation activities including:

- Re-grading the park area
- Implementing stormwater improvements
- Removing and constructing a new natural grass softball field
- Removing and constructing three (3) new tennis courts
- Removing and constructing one (1) basketball court
- Installing new playground surfacing
- Constructing HMA and flexible porous pavement walkways
- Providing new electrical service and underground wiring
- Installing lighting
- Building a segmental block concrete retaining wall
- Creating concrete pads
- Installing an irrigation system
- Performing other associated site improvements.

Bids shall be submitted on a lump sum basis with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence after the bid opening on September 5, 2025, with specific timelines to be determined post-award.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Hopedale Town Park located in Hopedale, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must complete a one-time registration process on the Tighe & Bond website to obtain bidding documents. A bid deposit is required as per the Instructions to Bidders. Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Workforce Development and Federal Minimum Wage Rates under the Davis-Bacon Act apply to this project. A mandatory pre-Bid conference will be held at the site on August 25, 2025.
