Background
The Richmond Consolidated School Committee is seeking bids for the provision of school bus transportation services. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe and reliable transportation for all designated school children under the jurisdiction of the Richmond School Committee. The current contract, held by Dufour Bus Company, is set to expire on June 30, 2026. The new contract will commence on July 1, 2026.

Work Details
The successful bidder will be responsible for providing scheduled transportation services for all designated school children, which includes:
- Furnishing all necessary transportation equipment and maintaining it in good working order.
- Complying with all relevant laws, rules, and regulations from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Richmond School Committee.
- Providing a fleet of at least four buses for regular transportation needs, with potential adjustments based on district requirements.
- Ensuring that all vehicles meet safety standards and are equipped with necessary safety features such as stop arms and cellular communication devices.
- Maintaining a staff of qualified drivers who have passed background checks and meet licensing requirements.
- Conducting regular safety drills and ensuring compliance with emergency evacuation plans.
- Providing written reports on bus counts and maintaining communication with school officials regarding any operational issues or changes.

Period of Performance
The contract period will be five years, commencing on July 1, 2026, and ending on June 30, 2031.

Place of Performance
Transportation services will be provided within the Richmond School District, specifically serving Richmond Consolidated School located at 1831 State Road, Richmond, MA 01254.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide evidence of their experience in school bus transportation, including references from previous contracts in Massachusetts. They must also demonstrate financial capability to perform the contract and provide documentation regarding their fleet's compliance with state regulations. Additionally, bidders must submit a certificate of insurance covering various liabilities including auto liability and workers' compensation.
