RFR 270131 Linen and Laundry Services for the DPH Hospital System

Background
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through the Department of Public Health (DPH), is seeking bids for Linen and Laundry Services for its hospital system. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive linen and laundry services to various hospitals under the DPH, ensuring that all necessary linen and equipment are supplied by the vendor. The hospitals involved include Tewksbury Hospital, Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, and Western Massachusetts Hospital.

Work Details
The selected vendor will be responsible for providing all linen and laundry services, including ownership and supply of all necessary linen and equipment. Services include:
- Linen Management and exchange cart system.
- Processing costs calculated on a per pound basis for flatwork (e.g., sheets, pillowcases) and rough dry items (e.g., towels, gowns).
- Additional items such as cubicle curtains and uniforms will be processed on a per piece cost.
- Provision of exchange carts filled with clean linen, monthly usage data reports, and maintenance of cleanliness for all carts.
- Compliance with regulations from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, The Joint Commission, CMS, and OSHA.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to last for an initial duration of 3 years with an option to renew for an additional 2 years. The final end date of the contract is set for June 30, 2031.

Services will be performed at the following locations:
- Tewksbury Hospital: 365 East Street, Tewksbury MA 01876
- Lemuel Shattuck Hospital: 170 Morton Street, Jamaica Plain MA 02130
- Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children: 3 Randolph Street, Canton MA 02021
- Western Massachusetts Hospital: 91 East Mountain Road, Westfield MA 01085

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of experience in providing linen and laundry services to healthcare facilities. They must also provide evidence of insurance compliance with Massachusetts requirements. Additionally, bidders are required to submit a Supplier Diversity Program (SDP) commitment of at least 1% to partner with diverse businesses certified by the Supplier Diversity Office.
