Background
The City of Boston, through its Public Facilities Commission and the Mayor's Office of Housing, is seeking proposals for the development of open space projects. The Grassroots Open Space Program aims to make land available for community gardens, urban farms, and passive open spaces. This initiative is part of the city's efforts to rehabilitate tax foreclosed or surplus municipal properties.

Work Details
The RFP solicits proposals from qualified nonprofit organizations or other entities for the development of specific parcels into open space. The properties available include:
- 301 Norfolk St. (Ward 17, Parcel #01654000)
- 303 Norfolk St. (Ward 17, Parcel #01655000)
- 305 Norfolk St. (Ward 17, Parcel #01656000)
- 307 Norfolk St. (Ward 17, Parcel #01657000) in Dorchester, MA, totaling approximately 11,741 square feet; owned by the City of Boston.
- 82 Mascot St (Ward 14, Parcel #03790000) in Dorchester, MA, totaling approximately 4,321 square feet; owned by the Boston Redevelopment Authority d/b/a Boston Planning and Development Agency.
Up to $150,000 in funding is available from the Grassroots Program for these projects.

Period of Performance
The RFP package will be available starting September 15, 2025. An Applicant Conference is scheduled for September 25, 2025. Completed RFP responses must be submitted electronically by November 17, 2025.

Dorchester, Massachusetts.
