RFP#274-24 200 Newport Security Upgrades

Background
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), a corporate and political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, is issuing Request for Proposals (RFP) #274-24 for the 200 Newport Security Upgrades Phase 1 project.

This initiative aims to enhance the security infrastructure at designated locations as outlined in the contract drawings, integrating new systems with existing MBTA security measures.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the installation of communications and security systems featuring:
- IP-based video surveillance cameras
- Electronic access control system
- Network switches
- Call boxes
- Rack/enclosures
- Necessary cable and conduit.

The contractor will also be responsible for electrical systems and conduit with device boxes to support these installations. Bidders must complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to receive detailed plans and specifications for the project.

Period of Performance
The estimated service start date is March 6, 2025, following the contract execution expected on February 20, 2025.

The RFP was issued on January 15, 2025, with responses due by February 6, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will take place at 200 Newport Avenue, Quincy, Massachusetts.
