Rfi- Pmd - Street Furniture Program

Background
The City of Boston, through its Property Management Department (PMD), is seeking input from various industries including Out of Home, Digital, Wireless, Design, and Financial sectors. The goal is to gather insights on best practices for designing, manufacturing, deploying, funding, maintaining, and operating street furniture elements that enhance transit options, promote shared rides and active transportation. Additionally, the program aims to stimulate neighborhood activity, boost retail activity, and support economic development. This information will inform the development of a new street furniture program.

Work Details
The City is requesting detailed input on industry practices related to street furniture that supports transit and community engagement. This includes recommendations on design, manufacturing processes, deployment strategies, funding mechanisms, maintenance protocols, and operational frameworks for street furniture elements.

Period of Performance
The information gathered through this Request for Information (RFI) will be utilized in the development of a new Request for Proposals (RFP) expected to be released in 2026. Responses to this RFI are due by 12:00 p.m. on August 25, 2025.

Place of Performance
Responses can be submitted electronically through the City of Boston Supplier Portal or via email. A site conference call is scheduled for August 13, 2025.
