Removal of Thousand Acre Reservoir, Patrill Hollow, and Weston Brook Dams

Background
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through the Department of Fish and Game and the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, is inviting sealed bids for a project focused on the removal of three dams: Thousand Acre Reservoir Dam, Patrill Hollow Dam, and Weston Brook Dam. The goal of this project is to restore natural waterways and improve environmental conditions in the affected areas.

Work Details
The project involves the following specific tasks for each dam:

1. **Thousand Acre Reservoir Dam Removal**:
- Establishing access route to the dam.
- Demolition of a concrete, stone, and earthen dam.
- Excavating and disposing of potentially contaminated soils.
- Streambed restoration.
- Tree plantings.
- Site restoration.
- Water control and miscellaneous work in Phillipston and Athol, MA.

2. **Patrill Hollow Dam Removal**:
- Establishing access route to the dam.
- Demolition of the existing concrete, stone, and earthen dam.
- Embankment regrading.
- Demolition of an abandoned boathouse including hazardous materials abatement.
- Construction of boulder riffle grade control.
- Site restoration.
- Water control and miscellaneous work in Hardwick, MA.

3. **Weston Brook Dam Removal**:
- Establishing access route to the dam.
- Demolition of a concrete, stone, and earthen dam.
- Stream restoration.
- Tree plantings.
- Site restoration.
- Miscellaneous work in Windsor, MA.

Period of Performance
The contract work must be completed no later than December 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in four towns in Massachusetts: Phillipston, Athol, Hardwick, and Windsor.
