Removal of Cusky Pond Dam and Replacement of Barre Rd Culvert

Background
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, through the Department of Fish and Game and the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife, is inviting sealed bids for a project aimed at enhancing local infrastructure and environmental conditions.

The project involves the removal of Cusky Pond Dam and the replacement of Barre Road Culvert over Sucker Brook, with the goal of restoring natural water flow and improving safety for road users.

Work Details
The project consists of two main components:

1) Removal of Cusky Pond Dam, which includes establishing an access route to the dam, demolishing an earthen dam, excavating and regrading embankment soils, streambed restoration, site restoration, water control, and miscellaneous work in New Braintree, MA.

2) Replacement of Barre Road Culvert, which involves installation of traffic controls, demolition of the existing corrugated metal culvert, installation of a precast box culvert with associated headwalls and wingwalls, installation of a drain manhole, catch basins, stormwater treatment unit, drain pipe construction, boulder riffle grade control construction, pavement restoration, guardrails installation, chain-link fencing installation, site restoration, water control measures, and miscellaneous work in New Braintree, MA.

The work will be performed according to plans and specifications prepared by Tighe & Bond, Inc.

Period of Performance
The contract work must be completed no later than December 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed in New Braintree, Massachusetts.
