Background
The Administrative Office of the Superior Court (AOSC) through the Office of Court Management (OCM) of the Massachusetts Trial Court, is seeking qualified bidders to provide court reporting services to the AOSC for certain criminal trials in the Superior Court Department. The AOSC will assign per diem court reporters to certain criminal proceedings pursuant to its Policy regarding Recording of Criminal Proceedings.
Work Details
The purpose of this RFP is to solicit responses from qualified bidders to provide court reporter services to the Administrative Office of the Superior Court in the types of criminal proceedings set forth in Administrative Directive 18-1, including recording such proceedings, and providing transcripts thereof when ordered. The intent of the resulting contract is to establish and maintain a list of pre-qualified vendors that will be used by the Superior Court. This RFP supersedes the previous RFP for per diem court reporters, which was posted in May of 2018. The AOSC especially encourages applicants who are willing to travel to the Lawrence, Woburn, and Fall River Superior Courts as well as all Superior Courts west of Worcester, MA to apply.
This RFP includes mileage reimbursement as additional compensation for approved per diem court reports.
Period of Performance
The initial term of this contract is three (3) years with three additional optional renewal periods of two (2) years each for a maximum contract duration of nine (9) years, including the initial three-year term and all possible renewal options. The contract will be a Rolling Enrollment Contract allowing bidders to respond at any point during the life of the solicitation. The bid submission deadline is March 5, 2019.
Place of Performance
The geographic location(s) where court reporting services will be provided include Suffolk County Courthouse, 3 Pemberton Square, 13th floor, Boston, MA 02108 and other locations within Massachusetts as directed by the Administrative Office of the Superior Court.
