Pre-Engagement/Coaching and College Navigation

Background
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking qualified Providers to deliver three distinct services for DDS-eligible adults with Autism: Pre-engagement, Coaching, and College Navigation Services.

The goal is to assist individuals facing social isolation or mental health challenges in engaging with their communities and achieving personal goals. These services aim to promote stability, independence, and involvement in community life and the workforce.

Work Details
1. Pre-engagement Services: Target individuals with severe social isolation due to mental health challenges, providing one-to-one support to manage thoughts and behaviors that impair daily functioning. Coaches must build non-judgmental relationships, help develop coping skills, increase interest in community activities, and support crisis communication.

2. Coaching Services: Individualized one-to-one support focusing on self-identified goals for individuals on the autism spectrum. Coaches assist in overcoming barriers to independence and community involvement through practical suggestions and collaborative problem-solving.

3. College Navigation Services: Designed for DDS-eligible individuals enrolled in post-secondary programs, these services help navigate academic and social experiences while addressing executive functioning challenges. Navigators connect individuals with resources and provide advocacy without acting as tutors.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to last seven years, concluding on June 30, 2032.

Place of Performance
Services will be provided primarily in Massachusetts, including individual homes, college campuses, or other agreed-upon locations.
