MGC Bet Blocking Software Application
Background
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) is responsible for the regulatory oversight of casino gaming, sports wagering, and horse racing wagering in the Commonwealth. The Commission's mission is to regulate these industries with integrity and transparency, aiming to maximize consumer protections and promote responsible gaming.

In response to the Act Regulating Sports Wagering approved on August 10, 2022, the MGC seeks to expand its responsible gaming programs into the digital space by procuring a digital bet-blocking application for residents who wish to refrain from accessing online gambling applications and websites.

Work Details
The MGC is seeking a single vendor to provide a subscription-based bet-blocking application that will be free of charge for Massachusetts residents. The software must be installed on mobile devices and computers to block access to all legal and illegal betting sites. Key specifications include:
- Ability for only residents with a verifiable Massachusetts address to subscribe.
- Customizable homepage with state and national resources as directed by the MGC.
- Variable durations of blocking as specified by the MGC.
- Continuous updates to ensure blockage of all gambling sites without downtime.
- Design that prevents uninstallation from user devices.
- Inclusion of a FAQ page for users.
