MassDOT Steel Beam Guardrail

Background
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is seeking contractors to provide Steel Beam Highway Guard Rail and related Accessories on an 'as needed' basis. MassDOT operates a wide array of transportation systems throughout the Commonwealth, and the MassDOT Highway Division designs, constructs, maintains, and operates the state’s highways, bridges, and tunnels to ensure safe and efficient travel throughout the state.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide highway guard components that meet or exceed the applicable standards of AASHTOM180. The resulting contract(s) will be executed to pre-qualify vendors to provide MassDOT and any eligible entities with Steel Beam Highway Guard Rail and related Accessories on an 'as needed' basis. The contract duration includes an initial duration with two options to renew for two years each.

The Contractor shall provide highway guard components in accordance with specific standards for fabrication, steel post and brackets, rail elements and terminal sections, fittings, galvanizing, plastic brackets (blocks), and source of supply and quality.

Period of Performance
The estimated procurement calendar includes the RFR release date on 3/23/2021, deadline for submission of questions by 3/29/2021 @5pm, official answers for bid questions published on COMMBUYS on or before 4/2/2021 (estimated), initial deadline for bid response to be uploaded in COMMBUYS by 4/19/2021 @3pm, estimated notification of contract awards on 4/26/2021, and estimated contract start date on 5/3/2021.

Place of Performance
The vendor shall deliver the requested commodities to MassDOT district sites including locations on the Massachusetts Turnpike. Deliveries will be accepted Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. All orders will be F.O.B. (freight on board) destination.
