Description

FURNISH AND INSTALL FOUR (4) NEW, 200 HP VARIABLE FRQUENCY DRIVES, ASSOCIATED CONDUIT, WIRE AND CONTROLS. REMOVE AND REPLACE ONE (1) ROOF MOUNTED EXHAUST FAN AND CONTROLS. REPAIR EXISTING DAMPERS. REPLACE INTAKE AIR FILTERS. COMMISSION SYSTEM. HOUSEKEEPING PAD
Background
The Massachusetts Port Authority is issuing this contract for the CHP Cooling Tower Fan VFD Replacement in Boston, Massachusetts. The mission of the Authority is to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of transportation facilities and services. The goal of this contract is to enhance the cooling tower system's efficiency through the installation of new variable frequency drives and related components.

Work Details
The contractor will furnish and install four (4) new 200 HP variable frequency drives, associated conduit, wire, and controls. Additionally, the contractor will remove and replace one (1) roof-mounted exhaust fan and its controls, repair existing dampers, replace intake air filters, commission the system, and construct a housekeeping pad.

The trades involved include HVAC, electrical, concrete work, controls installation, demolition, painting, and commissioning.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to commence after the bid award and will be completed by May 28, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Massachusetts Port Authority facilities located in Boston, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements
General bidders must submit a current Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Division of Capital Asset Management along with an Update Statement. Bidders must be certified as General Contractors.

Filed sub-bidders must also provide a current Sub-bidder Certificate of Eligibility and an Update Statement for their specific sub-bid category. A proposal guaranty consisting of a bid deposit equal to five percent (5%) of the bid value is required. The successful bidder must furnish performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract price. Additionally, bidders are required to maintain liability insurance with a combined single limit of $2 million.
