Background
Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) is seeking to purchase new Rogue Weight Room/Gym Athletic Equipment as detailed in IFB 25-01. MMA is looking to enter into an agreement in July 2024 with the new equipment delivered and set up by 9/1/24 where possible with any customized equipment becoming available after 9/1/24.
Massachusetts Maritime Academy was founded in 1891 as the Massachusetts Nautical Training School. MMA assumed its current name in 1946 and was authorized by the Massachusetts state legislature to grant the Bachelor of Science degree. The Academy is one of nine Massachusetts state universities. MMA currently offers seven undergraduate degree programs and three graduate degree programs. The first graduate degrees were awarded in 2003 within Facilities Management. Graduate degrees in Emergency Management and Maritime Business Management followed in 2007 and 2018, respectively. MMA is one of only seven maritime institutions of higher education in the nation and presently the largest state maritime university.
