IFB 25-0072 Catch Basin Cleaning

Background
The City of Medford, through its Public Works Department, is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB 25-0072) for a Catch Basin Cleaning and Debris Removal project. The goal of this contract is to maintain the city's infrastructure by ensuring that catch basins are cleaned and debris is removed effectively. This contract supports the city's mission of providing safe and efficient public services.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for cleaning catch basins and removing debris throughout the city. Specific tasks include:

1. Inspecting all designated catch basins for debris accumulation.
2. Removing all debris from the catch basins to ensure proper drainage.
3. Reporting any structural issues found during inspections to the City’s Public Works Department.

The contract duration is one year with two optional one-year extensions at the City’s discretion.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on approximately July 1, 2025, and end on June 30, 2026, with two optional one-year extensions available.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed within the geographic boundaries of the City of Medford.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Massachusetts General Law (M.G.L.) c. 149, § 26 to 27D regarding Minimum Wage Rates applicable to tradespeople employed for this work. Bids must include a Bid Security in the form of a bid bond or certified check amounting to five percent of the bid. The City encourages participation from MBE/WBE/DBE firms.
