Background
The Barnstable County Water Quality Lab is seeking an automated titration system for the analysis of drinking water, wastewater, surface water, and groundwater. The system must meet or exceed the requirements set by specific methods such as Std. Methods 4500-H+B for pH value, Std. Methods 2510B for conductivity, US EPA Method 120.1 for conductance, and Std. Methods 2320B for alkalinity by titration. Additionally, the instrument must be able to operate unsupervised and have the ability to perform auto-titrations in a separate flow cell without the need for operator intervention.

Work Details
The automated titration system must be capable of performing various analyses including pH value, conductivity, and alkalinity from the same 50 ml sample cup. It should also have features such as automated pipetting, sample temperature compensation, automated calibration of pH and conductivity probes, and the ability to record and compensate for sample temperature. The system should be fully automated and modular with compact design to reduce bench space requirements.
Additionally, it should include an autosampler capable of holding at least 80 50-ml sample tubes and an X-Y-Z robotic system.
