FRC2453 Power Plant Structural Repairs

Background
Framingham State University, the Awarding Authority, is seeking sealed bids for the Power Plant Structural Repairs project located in Framingham, Massachusetts. The project aims to address structural issues within the power plant facility, ensuring safety and functionality. The work is estimated to cost $1,760,000.00 and is being conducted under M.G.L. c.149 regulations.

Work Details
The project consists of the following tasks:

- Disconnection, cutting, capping, and safe termination of existing utilities located beneath the first-floor concrete slab or passing through it to the basement.
- Temporary shoring of the existing perimeter foundation walls to facilitate complete demolition of the first-floor slab.
- Installation of a new concrete slab.
- Reconnection or reinstallation of previously removed building systems to accommodate the new slab with epoxy coating.

Specific trades involved include Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems, Plumbing, Heating/Ventilating/Air-Conditioning (HVAC), and Electrical Work.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be performed over a specified timeframe leading up to the bid opening date on June 18, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Power Plant located on South University Ave, off State Street in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Bidder Requirements
General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in General Building Construction and submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility along with a signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement. Filed sub-bidders must also be DCAMM certified for their respective trades and include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement. Additionally, contractors are encouraged to achieve workforce participation benchmarks set at 6.9% for women and 15.3% for minorities.
