FAC120 RFQ - Central District - Tree Removal

Background
The contract is issued by Urban Forestry Solutions, Inc. for tree risk and health assessment services at 3569 Chestnut Hill Ave., Athol, Massachusetts. The goal of the contract is to assess the health and safety of several trees on the property and provide recommendations for their management, particularly in relation to potential hazards posed by overhanging limbs and dead trees.

Work Details
The contractor will perform tree assessments and execute the following tasks:

1. For Tree #1 (Red Oak, 30 inches DBH): Remove two lowest limbs for driveway and utility wire clearance and prune all deadwood, broken, and weak branches over the driveway and turnaround area.

2. For Tree #2 (Red Maple, two leaders at 14 and 15 inches): Remove the tree due to weak branch union which predisposes it to failure.

3. For Tree #3 (Red Oak, 43 inches DBH): Remove the tree or at minimum remove all branches/limbs overhanging the property to prevent potential hazards.

4. For Tree #4 (Red Oak, 48 inches DBH): Remove the tree or at minimum remove the east limb and all branches/limbs overhanging the property due to decay at the branch union which could impact safety in the rear yard.

Period of Performance
The work is scheduled to be performed following the assessment conducted on July 26, 2024.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at 3569 Chestnut Hill Ave., Athol, Massachusetts.
