COA - HVAC Replacement

Background
The Town of Acushnet is seeking proposals for the replacement of HVAC systems at the Council on Aging facility. This initiative aims to enhance the comfort and efficiency of the facility, which serves community members in various capacities. The project is part of the town's commitment to maintaining its public facilities in compliance with current standards and best practices.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the removal and replacement of four (4) Gas Furnace Air Conditioning Condensers at the Council on Aging Facility located at 59 ½ South Main Street, Acushnet, MA 02743. The scope includes:

1. Removal & Disposal: Disconnecting and removing existing A/C condensers, recovering refrigerant in accordance with EPA regulations, and transporting debris to a licensed facility.

2. Installation of New Condensers: Furnishing and installing four new A/C condensers that meet current specifications, providing necessary mounting hardware and structural supports, and installing new refrigerant piping and insulation as required.

3. System Integration & Commissioning: Pressure testing refrigerant lines, charging systems with appropriate refrigerant, testing each unit for proper operation, and integrating with existing building management systems.

4. Bid Submission Requirements: Bids must comply with M.G.L. c. 149 procedures, include all costs associated with the project, proof of OSHA training, and proof of Massachusetts Trade License. Prevailing wage rates apply.

5. Awarded Bidder Requirements: Proof of insurance is required along with a Town of Acushnet named Payment Bond for 50% of the contract value, provision of O&M manuals, warranty documents, and equipment data sheets.

Period of Performance
The work must be completed by June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Council on Aging facility located at 59 ½ South Main Street, Acushnet, MA 02743.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide proof of OSHA training and a Massachusetts Trade License. The awarded bidder must also provide proof of insurance and submit a Payment Bond for 50% of the contract value.
