Climate Action Plan

Background
The Town of Millis was designated a Massachusetts Green Community in 2015 and has pursued the goal of a twenty (20%) percent energy use reduction in its municipal sector. It has installed over one million dollars of energy efficiency upgrades and retrofits to its municipal buildings, schools, and facilities. The Town has a policy, a bylaw passed in 2023, to align with the state’s goal of net-zero emission by 2050.

Work Details
The Town, through its Energy Manager and Energy Committee, seeks a Consultant who can provide services to create a Climate Action Plan for the entire Town, specifically the non-public (private) sector. The Plan will lay out a comprehensive strategy to address climate change. The Plan will set goals to address the next twenty-six (26) years culminating in 2050, with priority given to the ability to solve key issues identified, benefits provided, and the feasibility of implementation.
The Plan should be designed to be updated every five (5) years and should help develop strategies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Millis to Net-zero by the year 2050.
