Charlton Fire Sub Station

Background
The Town of Charlton, Massachusetts, is inviting sealed bids for the construction of a new fire substation. This project is being managed by the Awarding Authority and is designed to enhance the town's emergency response capabilities. The aim is to construct a modern facility that will serve as a base for fire operations in the area.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of a new two-story fire substation approximately 13,000 square feet in size, located at 4 Oxford Road, Charlton, MA. The facility will include four (4) bays for fire apparatus, administration offices, and living quarters for personnel.

The structure will be built with a combination of steel and wood framing, utilizing wood trusses for roof support. The estimated cost of the work is $15,000,000 and includes five alternates. The following trades are required as part of the project:

- Miscellaneous and Ornamental Iron
- Waterproofing, Dampproofing & Caulking
- Roofing and Flashing
- Glass and Glazing
- Tile
- Acoustical Tile
- Resilient Floors
- Painting
- Fire Protection
- Plumbing
- Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- Electrical.

Period of Performance
The general bids will be received until January 17th, 2025 at 04:00 PM. Filed sub-bids for various trades are due by December 20th, 2024 at 04:00 PM. An optional site visit is scheduled for December 11th, 2024 at 10 AM.

The contract work will be performed at 4 Oxford Road, Charlton, MA 01507.
