Background
The City of Boston's Public Facilities Department (PFD) is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the design services of the West End Branch Library project. This project is part of a Housing with Public Assets (HWPA) initiative, which includes 119 units of housing provided by an affordable housing developer.

The goal is to create a library that fits within the larger core and shell space provided by the housing developer, requiring coordination between the design team and the housing developer's designer.

Work Details
The selected design team will be responsible for providing comprehensive design services, including:
- Schematic Plans and Outline Specifications
- Design Development Plans and Specifications
- Construction Plans and Specifications
- Administration of Construction Contract
- Construction Supervision.

The estimated construction cost for this project is $25,599,434.54. The library will be constructed at 151 Cambridge Street, Boston MA, 02114. Key personnel and consultants required include experts in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Plumbing, Electrical work, Code Consulting, Telecommunications & Data, Interior Design, HVAC, Lighting, Specification Writing, Furniture Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E), Landscaping, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm systems, Cost Estimation, and Elevator Consulting. Applicants must demonstrate prior experience in urban settings and familiarity with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles as well as community engagement.

Period of Performance
The completion of the project is expected to take 260 weeks after the execution of a contract.
