Background
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from prospective Design-Builders to design and construct the Bridge Replacement, M-05-001=W-06-013 & W-06-016, Marion Road/Wareham Road (Route 6) over Weweantic River, for Design-Build Project No. 605311. The term 'Proposer' or 'Design-Builder' refers to an individual or entity providing Design-Build services and responding to MassDOT's Request for Letters of Interest. The Best Value Design-Build Procurement process (BVDB) will be used for the Project, authorized under M.G.L. c. 149A, ss. 14 et seq.
Work Details
The project involves the construction of two new bridges designed for a 75-year design life, including demolition of existing bridges, construction of new bridges, shared use paths, retaining walls, causeway, geotechnical engineering, hydraulic study, erosion control, landscaping design, stormwater design and construction, traffic engineering, pavement milling and overlay, utility coordination and protection, public outreach and coordination, hazardous materials assessment & remediation.
Period of Performance
The proposed schedule of events includes the RFQ briefing on March 19, 2024; SOQ submission deadline on March 27, 2024; short-listing of Design-Builders by May 29, 2024; and anticipated Notice to Proceed on December 23, 2024.
