26-060: High School Of Science & Technology Elevator Modernization

Background
The City of Springfield, Massachusetts, through its Department of Capital Assets and Construction (DCAC), is seeking bids from qualified firms for the modernization of elevator systems at the High School of Science & Technology. The goal of this contract is to enhance the functionality and safety of the school's elevator systems by completely removing outdated equipment and installing new custom elevators.

Work Details
The project involves the complete removal of three existing elevator systems, which includes cabs, motors, equipment, controls, and connections. Following the removal, three new custom elevator systems will be installed within the existing hoistway. The estimated cost for this project is $1,500,000.00. Sub-trades involved in this project include Elevators, HVAC, and Electrical work.

Period of Performance
The bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on November 25, 2025. Filed sub-bids for the trades listed will be received until 2:00 PM on November 13, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the High School of Science & Technology located at 1250 State Street, Springfield MA 01109.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category 'General Contractor.' Filed sub-bidders must also be DCAMM certified for their respective trades. Bidders are required to include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement. Additionally, all bidders must comply with prevailing wage requirements as applicable.
