Background
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of transportation services for students with special needs. This initiative aims to collaborate with the Special Education Transportation Task Force to identify cost-effective and appropriate transportation solutions for students in public day and residential programs.

Work Details
The contractor will provide leadership in promoting efficient transportation services tailored for students served in public day and residential programs. The contract encompasses a fee-for-service model, focusing on developing strategies that ensure cost-effectiveness while meeting the specific needs of special education students. The contractor will work closely with the Special Education Transportation Task Force to implement these strategies effectively.

Period of Performance
The initial contract duration is from the approval date until August 31, 2025, with an option for one renewal period extending up to 12 months, from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed primarily within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, specifically targeting public school districts.
