Background
St. Tammany Parish Government is seeking proposals for janitorial services at the St. Tammany Parish Jail Complex located at 1200 Champagne Street, Covington, LA 70433.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to obtain qualified Proposers who can provide comprehensive cleaning services to maintain the facility's cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Work Details
The Provider shall supply all necessary labor, tools, staff, equipment, required supplies, and supervision for janitorial services.
Specific tasks include:
- Regular Cleaning (RC): carpet vacuuming, sweeping, damp mopping, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning and disinfecting drinking fountains and fixtures, refilling dispensers, cleaning restrooms.
- Emptying Lift Station Waste Container (EWC) twice per week.
- Shower Cleaning (SC) once per month.
- Floor Cleaning (FC): carpet cleaning and stripping/refinishing floors three times a year.
- High Dusting (HD) four times a year.
- Vent and Wire Mesh Screen Cleaning (V&SC) quarterly.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon the issuance of a Notice to Proceed by the Parish and will continue through January 1, 2026.
There are options for two additional one-year renewals if mutually agreed upon.
Place of Performance
All services will be performed at the St. Tammany Parish Jail located at 1200 Champagne Street, Covington, LA 70433.
Bidder Requirements
Proposers must be in Good Standing and licensed to do business in the State of Louisiana.
They must also comply with security clearance processes for personnel entering the facility and agree to adhere to all relevant regulations including those under the Prison Rape Elimination Act.
