RFP 2026-06-0910 - Floor Care for BR Metro Airport

Background
The City of Baton Rouge and Parish of East Baton Rouge (City-Parish) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors for Floor Care services at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport. This airport serves as a crucial hub for commercial air travel in south Louisiana, connecting over 1.6 million residents. The City-Parish aims to maintain high standards of cleanliness and service in this facility, which is vital for both passenger experience and operational efficiency.

Work Details
The selected contractor will provide comprehensive janitorial services at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, including but not limited to:
- Daily cleaning of terminal areas, restrooms, and public spaces;
- Maintenance of flooring surfaces;
- Trash removal;
- Ensuring compliance with federal security requirements.

The contractor's employees must undergo TSA background checks and adhere to all airport security protocols. Additionally, the contractor must ensure that facilities are maintained 365 days a year, accommodating fluctuating passenger traffic and adhering to specific operational hours.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution around September 1, 2026, and will continue for a specified duration as outlined in the final agreement.

Place of Performance
Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, located six miles north of downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must demonstrate their capacity to meet the unique challenges of airport operations, including compliance with federal security requirements. They are encouraged to include plans for utilizing Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) in their proposals. The prime contractor will be responsible for all subcontractors and must ensure compliance with all contract terms.
