RFP 1972P 15kV Cable to Construct Underground Tie

Background
The City of Alexandria is seeking to secure pricing for 5,000 feet of 750 MCM 15kV Single Conductor Cable, intended for use by the Electric Distribution Department. This procurement aims to support the Electrical Department in its daily service work. Both copper and aluminum cable options are acceptable.

Work Details
The contract involves the supply of 5,000 feet of 750 MCM 15kV Single Conductor Cable, delivered in two reels of 2,500 feet each. The cable must meet or exceed specifications outlined in AEIC CS6 and ICEA S-68-516. Each reel must have both ends sealed with heat shrinkable caps to ensure a watertight seal. Approved manufacturers include Alcan, Anaconda-Ericsson Power Cable Division, The Okonite Company, Pirelli Cable Corporation, and South Wire.

The cable specifications include:
- Size: 750 MCM
- Voltage: 15kV
- Type: single Conductor, Class B
- Insulation: Cross-linked Thermosetting Polyethylene (minimum 220 Mils)
- Neutral: 1/3 Concentric Copper Wire or 24-#12 Concentric Aluminum Wire
- Jacket: Black PVC.

Period of Performance
The expected delivery time is ten weeks or less after receipt of the order.

Place of Performance
Products shall be delivered F.O.B., freight pre-paid to the City of Alexandria Electric Distribution Department located at 1015 N. Third Street, Alexandria, LA 71301.

Bidder Requirements
