Description

Rental Of Emergency Power Equipment Post Disaster
Background
The City of Kenner, Louisiana, is seeking a contractor to provide rental of emergency power equipment in the aftermath of disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. This contract aims to ensure rapid mobilization and restoration of services following such events, aligning with FEMA regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing rental services for various emergency power equipment on an as-needed basis. This includes all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, delivery, removal, maintenance, servicing, engineering (if needed), and setup and teardown of the equipment.

Specific items to be provided include:
- 40 KW to 2000 KW portable generators (both single-phase and three-phase)
- #2 5-wire banded quick connect cables (50 feet)
- Portable double wall diesel tanks (500 and 1000 gallons).

The contractor must also cover delivery charges, trip and mileage charges, mobilization/demobilization of equipment, startup procedures, electrical connections, preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs. In case of breakdowns, the contractor must repair or replace equipment within 48 hours. All equipment must be delivered and set up within 48 hours after receiving approval from the City.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for two years upon execution with an option for one additional year based on mutual consent.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed in Kenner, Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with insurance requirements specified by the City of Kenner. This includes maintaining general liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate. Workers' compensation coverage is also required along with other specific insurance provisions outlined in the bid documents.
