M7099-Rebid City Courthouse Railing Replacement

Background
The City of Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish is issuing a sealed bid for the replacement of railings at the City Courthouse.
The project aims to enhance safety and compliance with building codes by replacing existing railings with new, custom-fabricated stainless steel railings that match the design of nearby structures.
This initiative reflects the city's commitment to maintaining public infrastructure and ensuring accessibility.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for removing existing railings and fabricating new railings as follows:
1. Front Entrance Ramp Railings: Custom fabricate and install new 1 ½” diameter tube handrails, post-mounted at the ramp and attached to walls where necessary. Guardrails will be installed at upper areas to meet code requirements.
2. North and South Stair Side Entrances Railings: Replace four existing rails with new stainless steel rails, including two approximately 219” long and two approximately 108” long, all fabricated from 1 ½” stainless steel pipe with a brushed finish.
3. Rear Stair Railings: Install two new rails approximately 168” long, matching the existing design.
4. Rear Entrance Stair Railings: Replace two handrails and wall cap rails with new stainless steel rails, including cables for support, fabricated from 1 ½” stainless steel pipe.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence following the bid award on October 10, 2024, with a mandatory job site visit scheduled for October 1, 2024.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the City Courthouse located at 233 St. Louis Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
