Lawn Care and Bed Maintenance at NSU Leesville/Ft. Johnson Campus

Background
Northwestern State University (NSU) is seeking bids for lawn care and bed maintenance services at its Leesville/Fort Johnson Campus. The goal of this contract is to maintain the aesthetic and functional quality of the campus grounds, ensuring a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, tools, equipment, and necessary supplies for lawn care and flower bed maintenance on the NSU Leesville/Fort Johnson Campus. Specific tasks include:

1. Lawn mowing and weed eating all grassed areas twice per month;
2. Weeding of flower beds outside buildings once per month, including pruning;
3. Using a weed eater or equivalent for areas not accessible by mower;
4. Blowing, vacuuming, or sweeping paths, sidewalks, patios, and door entrances after each mowing;
5. Trimming fringe left by mowers around buildings, trees, and sidewalks;
6. Mowing and weed eating in fenced areas behind campus;
7. Controlling grass and weed growth in parking lots with Round-Up;
8. Collecting and disposing of clippings from specified areas;
9. Trimming low-hanging branches once in spring and once in mid-summer;
10. Maintaining landscaping free of fire ants and timely fertilization of turf with water-soluble synthetic fertilizers.

Period of Performance
The contract period is from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Northwestern State University Leesville/Fort Johnson Campus located at 3329 University Parkway, Leesville, Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed under La. R.S. 37:2150-2163 for classifications such as Building Construction work. They must also provide proof of insurance covering worker’s compensation, commercial general liability with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, and automobile liability insurance with a minimum limit of $1 million per occurrence.
