Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office Morgue Renovation and Expansion - ReBid

The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office is seeking bids for the construction of a new forensic center and the renovation and expansion of its existing morgue. The work will be executed in two phases to minimize downtime for the forensic center. Phase 1 involves constructing a 9,816 square foot facility that will include new autopsy spaces, coolers, a garage, and advanced equipment, providing a state-of-the-art environment for forensic operations. Phase 2 encompasses a 2,996 square foot partial interior demolition of the current morgue, followed by a buildout to create secondary spaces such as staff areas and forensic research spaces, resulting in a combined total of 12,812 square feet dedicated to the advancement of scientific research and data collection for the Coroner's Office. The solicitation is being issued by the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office (JPCO). This contract is intended to support the evolution of the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office by providing modern facilities that enhance forensic capabilities and research. The project is structured in two phases to ensure continuous operation of the forensic center during construction. All bids must comply with the contract documents available at the Jefferson Parish Purchasing Department, Suite 4400, Jefferson Parish General Government Building, 200 Derbigny Street, Gretna, Louisiana. Bidders must clearly display the Bid Proposal Number JPCO 2025-03 on the outside of their bid envelope and on the bid proposal itself. Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 p.m. local time on December 2, 2025, at the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office, 2018 8th Street, Harvey, Louisiana 70058, and will be publicly opened and read aloud. Late bids will not be accepted. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond acceptable to the JPCO, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable without condition to the JPCO as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly execute the contract in accordance with its proposal and all contract terms and conditions.
