Fire School Turnout Gear

Background
Delgado Community College is seeking bids for the provision of Fire School Turnout Gear to support its Marine Fire School located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The goal of this contract is to ensure that students have access to high-quality, compliant turnout gear for their training needs while maintaining safety standards as outlined by relevant NFPA regulations.

Work Details
The successful bidder will provide rental turnout gear for students, which includes fire coats, fire pants, hoods, fire helmets, suspenders, and boots. The vendor will be responsible for sizing, cleaning, inspecting, storing, and repairing the gear. All gear must meet NFPA 8151, NFPA 1972, and NFPA 1500 standards. Specific responsibilities include:
- Providing a fresh set of gloves and hood per rental day.
- Cleaning gear off-site after each training course.
- Providing a UL Certificate laboratory testing service.
- Conducting advanced inspections and specialized cleaning as needed.
- Maintaining two clean sets of each size of gear on-site for emergency replacements.
- Providing an on-site storage facility (minimum 10' x 40') with specific requirements including electrical wiring and mechanical ventilation.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period is from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. There is an option to extend the contract for two additional twelve-month periods under the same terms and conditions.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Delgado Community College Marine Fire School located at 13200 Old Gentilly Road, New Orleans, LA 70129.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least ten years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance and be licensed by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for installation and repair of mechanical systems. Additionally, bidders must provide proof of insurance as per specified requirements before work commences.
