Construction Of Cells 18 & 19

Background
The St. Landry Parish Solid Waste Disposal District is issuing a solicitation for the construction of Cells 18 & 19 at the St. Landry Parish Sanitary Landfill. The project aims to expand landfill capacity and improve waste management services in the region. This contract is part of the district's ongoing efforts to enhance solid waste disposal capabilities and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the construction of Cells # 18 & 19, which includes:
- Approximately 81,300 cubic yards (C.Y.) of excavation
- 27,000 C.Y. of recompacted clay liner
- 280,000 square feet (S.F.) of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane
- 136,400 S.F. of geotextile
- Installation of 2 HDPE manholes
- 1,420 linear feet (L.F.) of polyethylene (P.E.) leachate collection piping

Additionally, other associated work as specified in the contract documents will be required.

Period of Performance
The project is expected to commence upon receipt of a written 'Notice to Proceed' from the Owner and must be completed within 240 consecutive calendar days.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the St. Landry Parish Sanitary Landfill located in Beggs, Louisiana.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond amounting to 5% of the bid total. Additionally, bidders are required to comply with non-discrimination employment practices as outlined in Executive Order No. 11246. They must also provide performance and labor/material payment bonds equal to the contract amount upon award.
