2025 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

Background
St. Tammany Parish Government is seeking proposals for the 2025 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. This initiative aims to provide a safe and efficient means for residents to dispose of hazardous waste. The program will be administered by a licensed hazardous waste management firm, with events scheduled on multiple dates and locations throughout the Parish. It supports the community's environmental sustainability efforts by facilitating proper disposal of hazardous materials.

Work Details
The Provider will conduct up to two Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Day events per year, alternating between the east side (Slidell) and west side (Covington/Mandeville) of the Parish. Responsibilities include:

1. Setting up collection sites and being ready to accept vehicles by 7:30 AM on event days.
2. Managing material drop-off, identification, segregation, packaging, labeling, manifesting, transportation, and disposal of HHW.
3. Coordinating with other vendors and volunteer groups invited by the Parish to assist in waste collection.
4. Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous waste management.
5. Providing sufficient personnel including a certified chemist or technician during each event.
6. Preparing a comprehensive Work Plan detailing site preparation through cleanup and waste shipment processes.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon approval by the Parish President or designee and will run until December 31, 2025. There are options for three additional one-year renewals based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Collection events will take place at various locations in St. Tammany Parish, specifically alternating between sites in Covington/Mandeville and Slidell.
