Description

Voluntary Benefits Broker/Enrollment Services and Specified Broker Services
Background
The University of Kentucky is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals from qualified, experienced, financially sound, and responsible offerors for the delivery and management of a comprehensive voluntary benefits program for its employees and retirees.

The University aims to provide voluntary, employee-paid benefits products at no cost to itself. The current broker/enrollment firm has been in place since 1995, providing essential services to assist employees with enrollment in various benefit programs.

Work Details
The successful offeror will be responsible for providing a voluntary benefits program that includes the following minimum insurance products:
- Automobile
- Homeowners/Renters
- Universal Life
- Accident Insurance
- Hospital Indemnity Insurance
- Short-Term Disability
- Cancer and Specific Disease coverage
- Supplemental Long-Term Disability (LTD)
- Pet Insurance
- Legal Services.

Additionally, the offeror will manage specified products such as Basic Term Life (employer paid), Basic AD&D (employer paid), Optional Life (employee paid), Dependent Life (employee paid), Optional AD&D (employee paid), and Health Plans Stop-Loss insurance. The offeror must also provide an automated benefits enrollment system that integrates with the University’s systems and supports approximately 20,000 employees and 400 former Community College System employees.

Period of Performance
The contract period is expected to commence upon award and will continue for an initial term as specified in the RFP with options for renewal based on performance and mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
The services will primarily be performed at the University of Kentucky's campus located in Lexington, Kentucky.
